Sports : Mother Nature wins again: ball games delayed again due to rain

Mother Nature took its toll on area diamonds again, as rain postponed many games.

Baseball diamonds around Iowa sat empty over the weekend and into Monday, as high school baseball and softball teams entered their final weeks of regular season play before beginning their hopeful journey to the State Tournaments.

Vinton boys and girls were both rained out Monday night, and are scheduled to play at home tonight. The Vikings host Clear Creek-Amana at 5:30 p.m. while the softball team plays Jesup. The varsity contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Weather permitting, of course.
