Dear Editor,
I’ve worked alongside Melinda for over 27 years at the Benton County Treasurer’s Office and I am proud to support her for re-election as the Benton County Treasurer.
Melinda has spent 28 ½ years serving the people of Benton County and has been our Treasurer for the last 6 years. She has also completed all the requirements to become a Certified Treasurer which includes having held the office of the Treasurer for 36 months and completing 30 credit hours of training.
Throughout the years I have seen firsthand how much she cares about our office, her employees, and the customers who walk through our doors every day.
She brings experience, knowledge, steady leadership, and a positive work environment to our office. We are thankful for the friendly, hardworking team atmosphere she helps create.
If you’d like to continue seeing the same friendly faces and dependable service at the Benton County Treasurers Office, I hope you will join me in voting for Melinda Schoettmer for Benton County Treasurer on June 2, 2026.
Thank You,
Rose Ries Sackett

The supervisors have accommodated her paranoia and should have demanded that she fully reopen the office to the public.
She fails to recognize that WE pay HER and she works for us...when she shows up. 55 days off in one freaking year - are you kidding me?
The rest of the world works 5 days a week making a helluva lot less than Melinda does. I think it's time to freeze the wages. You make more than the majority of us without a government job.
Get over yourself.
And editor, why did you pull down the original letter from the "stupivisors" who support this nonsense? Real classy!
Editor's note: It was requested to be pulled down by the original sender.
My husband came in to get his license renewed - he didn’t have an appointment and you didn’t like his attitude because he told you he works on the road! It's hard to make an appointment without anyone in there! There were 3 people standing around and you had him sit in the hall for 30 minutes or more!
It’s time for a change, too much drama and non-working people!
Get real we need someone working for the people!
