Dear Editor,
I wrote a few weeks ago about my concern that things might go Kinetic . . . it seems that transition is underway. Two dead, one wounded as of today. And today (Sunday, the 25th) , according to reports and videos from Minneapolis “demonstrators” are directly attacking Federal officers. There are three primary failures at play here that are putting the folks of Minneapolis at risk.
First, the failure of the Biden Administration by simply eliminating our southern border for his four-year term. Result?? MILLIONS of illegals streaming across the border, widespread human and child trafficking. An estimated 100,000 Americans dead annually due to drug overdoses. The Preamble of the US Constitution calls for our government to “provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare” . . . the Biden administration did neither during its 4-year term.
The second failure is the failure of the government of Minnesota. Their state constitutions in Article 1, Section 1 of their State Constitution states that the “Government is instituted for the security, benefit and protection of the people”. ICE would not have a single person in Minneapolis if they had turned over the thousands of illegals they have deportation orders for. They did not – they protected them and released them from prisons instead, none of which protects the people of Minnesota.
The third failure occurred in the city of Minneapolis itself. In the city’s Mission Statement, it declares the object of the city government is to “ensure all communities thrive in a safe and healthy city” among other goals. By following the example of their state leaders in not turning over violent illegal migrants, it leaves the task to the federal government.
I can only assume, based on the evidence, that the decision not to turn over illegal migrants with signed deportation orders is purposeful. It cannot be simply an oversight. It must be a cold, calculated decision that I suspect has much more to do with the raw hatred of Donald Trump and absolutely no concern for the safety of their citizens.
The final responsibility always lies in the hands of the individual. Then you look in the mirror each day – you – and you alone – are responsible for the actions you take. Don’t interfere with Federal officers, stay away from demonstrations designed to impede Federal officers from doing their job. If an officer gives an order – follow it. Renee is dead because of her decision to heed the cry of her spouse - “drive baby, drive” - rather than obey the calls of the officers asking her to get out of the car.
One of the three Venezuelan illegals that chose to attack the ICE officer with shovels rather than surrender is now recovering from wounds. He chose armed assault of an officer over being taken into custody for a deportation order.
And tragically, a guy that decided he needed to film ICE officers and intercede on a person’s behalf – and felt the need to arm himself and apparently decided to draw on the officers, has joined Reenee in death. Both Reenee and Alex could have remained at home. There was no need to intercede. As much as there is a desire to see ICE agents as NAZI storm troopers, sane folks see the insanity of such comparisons. The ICE agents are simply doing the jobs that the state of Minnesota and the city of Minneapolis refuse to do – remove violent, illegal immigrant criminals from the city. Thousands have been removed. Some with deportation orders over a decade old. And that task will continue.
The deaths are being used to elevate the confrontation to the next level – actual armed resistance. Think Sarajevo of the early 90s. With a little effort Minneapolis can reach that point. That is what I mean by things going kinetic. And due to the actions of a failed Biden administration, a failed Walz administration and a failed Frey administration . . . we are staring that possibility in the eye. Sadly, I believe Governor Walz wants that confrontation. I think it makes him feel tough, powerful – but without having to take any real personal risks.
The next step at the national level is invoking the insurrection act. I remember the last time that was done. Democratically controlled southern states refused to honor the equal right amendment and admit black children to white schools. The 101st Airborne Division was used to resolve the situation. If the leaders of Minnesota and Minneapolis refuse to hand over violent criminals with deportation orders . . . and if they allow armed interference with federal agents . . . things will not end well . . .
Respectfully,
Bill Keller

Another great analysis. Protesters, YOU are being lied to by the Islamists, Marxists, Antifa and all the other anti-Americans! Stay home, live in peace, allow federal officers to enforce federal law - passed by Congress and signed into law. Good grief!!
I know all these MAGA devotees are so worried about Minnesota's immigration problem.
I bet you already know that Texas is second highest state for illegal immigrants at 2.3 million, with Florida coming in just behind them at 1.6 million illegal immigrants.. Minnesota doesn't even make the top 10. I'm sure the current administration is getting ready to invade those states real soon.
Of course there is the legitimate concern from MAGA supporters for Federal officers and following orders as was demonstrated by MAGA on January 6th 2021. But wait that was the officer's fault.. $5 million to Ashli Babbitt's family for not following orders and getting shot. And of course she is a hero!
By the way Bill when is it okay for an officer to have his or her phone out recording while conducting official business. He was so scared for his life he walked in front of a running vehicle with his cellphone out. What professionalism and excellence in training.
I have nothing but the utmost respect for real law enforcement, and what they go through to keep their communities safe, but watching these clowns run around with masks on, kicking in doors without warrants, pulling guns in the streets with no actual threat present, and escalating confrontations with civilians, whether those civilians are misguided or not, I have to question whether they qualify the title of officer.
I do agree that most fentanyl that comes into the country and causes death is made in China and comes in from Mexico not Venezuela.
This blatant, intentional ignorance and hypocrisy from both sides has to end now!
God bless and save us all.
