Letter to the Editor: Anger later, Sadness now

Dear Editor,

A good man, a father, and loving husband was killed by an untrained assassin. a severed jugular- no hope of saving his life. I was as angry as I ever have been in my life and then came sadness and pity for those who loved him. Then prayers for the wife and children. I said a Hail Mary for him and I prayed to the Angel St. Micheal to protect us in peace and battle.

But then what I expected to happen, happened. No rioting, no looting, no law enforcement injured and no citizens injured or killed. How come? Those who were part of "Turning Point USA", turned inward with renewed resolve. And then Mrs. Kirk through grief and tears shown all of us what courage and resolve really is. You people in the movement are so far above the leftist rabble. I am so proud of you. you help me to remember what being an American really means.

May God continue to bless your efforts.

I fail to see with all your academic achievements how you can be so wrong and so calluous. The shooter was not a right winger or Republican he was radicalized by Social Media amd left wing propaganda. You keep saying these derogatory things about President Trump. Your a real ASS for bringing these falsehoods up. There is no evidence of these awful charges, and what good does it do? President Trump has done more in the short time he has been in office than Presidents Obama or Biden had done in 12 years. You need another source for your news/charges, otherwise it is just garbage...

WM September 15, 2025, 5:34 pm RB, you're wrong, the shooter was aligned with far left ideology, that's a plain as day to anyone who looks at the evidence. But that is largely irrelevant and even pointing it out shows such a lack of decorum for such a tragedy. Anyone who could do this is sick in the head whether they are left or right leaning. Goodness knows there are wackos on both sides. What is evident however is that violence against the left is largely condemned by everyone whereas violence against the right is either justified or outright celebrated by even those in the main stream. Regardless of anyone's personal politics or leanings, violence such as this is unacceptable. Period. And the fact that so many are unaffected by the senseless murder that left two young children fatherless and a lovely wife and mother a widow reveals how much evil has consumed our culture.

RB September 15, 2025, 3:37 pm John, you conveniently forgot to mention that the man that shot him was one of your own. Last week Trump and you were saying it was a far left lunatic. I thought, if you had decency at all, you would walk back from that. It's hard for you to admit the huge mistake you made in voting for a convicted felon, sexual abuser, and likely pedophile. You, being a veteran, embrace the five-time draft dodger that called military folks sucker and losers. Time to wake up to what is happening!
