Recently I've had the opportunity to get involved with some of our city departments. --A few weeks ago I had a question about mosquito spraying and when I called Chris at city hall he not only gave me the phone number of the person I needed to talk to but he called me back the next day to follow up. --The guys in the street department have made it possible to sit on our deck now that they are spraying for mosquitos twice a week. I've been told they take turns giving up an evening to run the sprayer truck. Thanks guys. --For those of us not smart enough to own a smart TV, Josh, at iVinton was very patient and understanding with me. --The last time I had a question about the water line coming into our house, Jeff in the water department, practically beat me back home to investigate my concern. --Today I went to the brush dump (my wife says it's my favorite place in town) to see how high the water was. Brad was there running the city's big endloader getting the place ready for high water. Despite me saying I would come back when the river went down, he insisted I unload my small load of brush and he would push it where it needed to go.
I've always promoted Vinton as a great place to live, shop and raise a family. My recent interactions with some of the behind-the-scenes people who keep our town running smoothly just reinforce what a great place this is. Thank you for all you do. Keep up the good work. Sincerely, Frank Van Steenhuyse
