In honor of Flag Day, the Army's 250th Birthday and the audacity that Donald Trump had to be born later, on the same day, June 14th, there were nationwide protests declaring that Donald Trump isn't king. The very sarcastic side of me says, "No duh, Sherlock."
Meanwhile, headlines out of New York declared, "The Clintons and Kamala Harris Descend on a Hamptons Wedding of Liberal Royalty." I guess this means that political royalty is okay if it's on the left and not on the right? I'm so confused.
The "royalty" on the left was Huma Abedin whose fame was in being an aide to Hillary Clinton..and that she was married to Congressman Weiner, you remember him right? No he didn't drive the weiner mobile. I'm not sure which of these made her "royalty." I mean she does have a lot in common with Hillary, who is the left's idea of royalty herself. But anyway, she is now married to Alex Soros, son of George Soros, the left's Daddy Warbucks.
So Kings of the left.
While celebrating their "royalty," they issued a decree for marching orders to the peasants that they should be irate over Trump, on his birthday because he "threw himself a military parade." I guess the first four years that he was in office he forgot to schedule parades for his birthday? How stupid of him!
If you missed the Army's birthday celebration this weekend, you really missed an awesome event. Here's a link to the event. Throughout the parade we got to see the various uniforms, equipment used and explanations of what it does and hear about historical events the Army was involved in. They went on to show the equipment of the future, which I may have NOT shown but I'm sure they didn't show it all. Did you know that the Army was around when it threw it's first "No Kings" protest? It was called the Revolutionary War.
If you didn't watch, you really missed an event that would make your heart swell with love and appreciation for our country and the men and women who have served in our Army. You missed seeing our current Army members mostly young men and women with a few gray haired leaders mixed in.
Throughout the day, the Army had events for families to attend. They showed various aspects of the Army and what it does. There were family friendly events all across the town. It was fun to see everyone having a big ol' Birthday Party in D.C.
Meanwhile, on CNN, they interviewed every protester that they could find. Cuz, well, you know, that's how they roll. Let's not be happy and enjoy the day, after all!
Buckle up folks, we're just starting to party!
In October, the United States Navy will also turn 250 Years old. Of course, their big day will be spun into "a right-wing political rally" since it lands a month before the election. Wait for it. (You can send your checks to: Predictions, c/o Vinton Today at P.O. Box 7, Vinton.)
It gets better.
In November of this year, the United States Marines celebrate THEIR 250th birthday as well. This one will fall after the election. Now this one will either be labeled a "right wing celebration" or a "lame attempt to bolster Trump's failing party." Either way, President Trump gets to preside over these events, because, well, he's the president.
However, the REAL "No Kings" Party will be on July 4th, 2026.
In 2026, we'll get to have a "big, beautiful birthday party" for our country as we celebrate the nation's 250th birthday. If you are old enough to remember 1976 when we celebrated the nation's 200th, you can recall that the theme was red, white and blue. A LOT of red, white and blue.
I imagine next year it will be redder, whiter and bluer with a smattering of gold. This is the party that will celebrate our forefathers, who fought for freedom from an actual king, not some imaginary king that only some can see in the room with us.
Again, I'm predicting a shame campaign with Greta Thunberg asking, "How DARE YOU!" Oh, the crying and whining will be off the charts about how we SHOULDN'T be celebrating such a fete, afterall, America is evil you know.
We should be ashamed of our success in creating a country from nothing. We should be ashamed that we've been so prosperous to have been able to feed the world. We should be ashamed of our history of slavery, and ignore the fact that the whole world participated in it too, but let's not discuss that part of it. We will be told that celebrating our country is nothing but a colonial, capitalistic event that we should all hang our heads in disgust over.
We are being told that we should be ashamed of all that we've accomplished in this great land. We're told that being proud of our successes is a bad thing in an age when participation ribbons are the norm. We are here because of the military strength born in 1775. In 1776 we all participated. We fought against someone coming onto this land and taxing the shirts off our backs. We need to bring a little of that last part back.
But anyway, the next year will be a blast, if you can get over the politics. We get to celebrate the work that was put into our country, the vision and the hard work that went into just surviving in this great land of ours.
We don't have royalty to thank, on the left or the right. We have hardworking Americans to thank. We did this. We built this. It's okay to take a day once in a while to recognize our successes and admire who we are as a nation. Ultimately, we've made the place so attractive that everyone either wants to join us or destroy us.
So stand up straight, America! We did it all without kings. We will continue, God willing, and if we also take time to bow our heads to remember that without God, none of this would have been possible.
Happy Birthday to our United States Army! Thanks for being there. Thanks for showing us your accomplishments and thanks for the reminders of all we owe you. Thanks especially this week to our Army Veterans for serving and thanks for being part of making this country possible.
