Editor:

The present Democratic Party has no leader, no direction and no solutions; they are good at squealing at the top of their lungs and good at insulting the rest of us who don't think like they do.   They keep insulting us, that's not a good way to win us over.   You will continue to lose.  Democrat leadership has one oar in the water and no rudder.  Don't we all want an efficient fiscally responsible government, why all the yelling and posturing?  Instead of President Trump being the villain, now it's Elon Musk - PayPal, Tesla, X, Space X, Star link - plus immense wealth.  Go Elon find the corruption and fraud; corrupt Federal Judges get out of the way!

Regards and blessings

DL February 14, 2025, 1:17 pm The fact that you can't see the corruption taking place, right before your eyes, is more proof of the mind control that they have over you. Prices are on the rise again, after 18 straight months of decline or flat. He's made our country less safe, with damn-near every move he's made. Our State Department has an $400 million order in for Tesla electric vehicles. Corruption? Unnecessary spending? Conflict of interest? Musk released his new Tesla logo. It's a swastika! That after he donated money to the German nazi Party and gave the nazi salute on inauguration day. Trump wants control of The Gaza Strip, so he can spend trillions of dollars worth of taxpayer money to clean it up and build the Israeli Riviera. Is that really a good use of taxpayer money? Especially when the tax cuts that he's asking for will cost over $4 trillion, over the next 7 years. Your con artist cult leader has so much control over you, that you are oblivious to the amount all of this will add to our debt.
BT February 14, 2025, 3:00 pm GO ELON!!!
RB February 14, 2025, 5:45 pm John, no one is going to win you over if you voted for Trump. Can't wrap my head around that. How you could support a convicted felon. It's hilarious about you now talking about Democrats complaining. Go back and reread your letters-to-the-editor during the Biden administration. You never gave him credit for cleaning up the sh*t he inherited from Trump. Pretty soon they will be coming for things close to you.

It's obvious your don't care, that in the richest country in the world, we have millions hungry. Somehow you are duped that trickle down works. All the billionaires and corporations do is buy back their own stock and hide their tax cut savings in off shore accounts to further avoid taxation. I believe that our economy does best when the 98% can confidently participate because nearly 3/4 of our economy is consumer-driven.

Just sit back and watch the fall out from these tariffs. It's also hilarious you can't figure out the countries won't pay for the tariffs, YOU WILL.

I'll wait a few months before I say: "I told you so!"
KT February 14, 2025, 6:58 pm I just will never understand how and why a Democrat thinks!!! It's so hard to even fathom what they truly believe in for our people and our country. It really blows your mind when all they do is yell, curse and scream and they want us to listen to their wisdom?????????? It's sad!!
ME February 15, 2025, 4:56 am Is the corruption & fraud & waste in the room with us?

"But he tweeted! He TWEETED!" about everything he's found. He's found nothing but "Mango Moron didn't like this" and "This department was looking into President Musk's businesses" and y'all buy cuz you're all proof that he loves his Cult of the Poorly Educated.

Get back to us when farms fail & get auctioned of. Remember Reagan's economy of the 80s? We ain't seen nothing yet. Ask the citizens of Alabama how they're doing with increased utility bills.

I'm having a good laugh, as the Cult realizes what it put into power and how much it's gonna hurt, and the weak, pathetic whistling in the dark to keep it away.

RB February 15, 2025, 9:25 am Ran across this complete with sources. I'm sure 80% of the farmer voted for Trump.

This post has blown up! Many of you have asked for sources, so I went ahead and edited the post to include those. I tried to use "close to the source" sources as possible. E.g. stories published in ag trade publications, notices from agricultural, trade and manufacturing organizations and, in some cases, links to social media posts where people are personally discussing their experiences. Please keep sharing!

Folks, it's taken a few days to trickle down, but I'm seeing post after post after post in the ag community social media channels of massive issues impacting U.S. farmers and the U.S. ag economy from Trump's DOGE efforts, tariff wars and the USAID shutdown.

Here are a few:

*Cotton and grain growers are losing contracts to long-time Canadian buyers because, even with the tariff pause, Canadian buyers don't trust the stability of U.S. export commerce with Trump in office. Plus, Canadians are just flat-out pissed and avoiding U.S. made/produced goods, including farm products.

* Chuck Grassley, of all people, is pleading with Trump to exempt potash from any Canadian tariffs because U.S. potash (a major fertilizer in agriculture) mainly comes from Canada. Impending tariffs will shoot farmers' fertilizer prices sky-high.

* Corn and soybean farmers are upset because Trump cancelled all of Biden's Climate Smart grants that were supposed to help them offset their adoption of soil health improving new practices like no-till and cover cropping.

https://www.bloomberg.com/.../soy-farmers-urge-trump-to...

* USAID's cancellation cuts $2 billion straight out of U.S. farmer's pockets from the Food for Peace program which purchased rice, wheat, corn and soy from U.S. farmers and distributed them to hungry nations. In some states and for some crops, USAID was their primary buyer.

* USDA NRCS is cancelling conservation contracts and leaving farmers holding the bag. These are things like fence improvements and upgraded water lines that boost farmer efficiency while also conserving the environment. Plus, the way they work is the farmer has to do the work first, then once they are done, the NRCS reimburses them. So now farmers that have spent the money to do the work are being told the NRCS won't honor their contracts.

* California farmers are PISSED because his "turn on
the taps" PR move did nothing to combat California wildfires and instead wasted 2 BILLION gallons of water being held in reservoirs for summer irrigation.
https://www.npr.org/.../farmers-are-worried-after-trump...
https://abc30.com/.../central-california.../15862080/

* U.S. crop farmers are freaked out over the trade wars since Canada, China and Mexico represent half - let me repeat that again, HALF, of all U.S. agricultural exports!
SOURCES:

https://www.spglobal.com/.../020625-us-farmers-could...

* Per Trump's freeze on financial contracts, the USDA is withholding funds for the Organic Market Development Grant program and the Transition to Organic Partnership Program, which typically go directly to organic farmers or to non-profits supporting organic farmers.
SOURCES:
https://www.eenews.net/.../usda-pauses-2-organic.../

* The shutdown of USAID has been trickling down through multiple ag-focused agencies, including the Soybean Innovation Labs, which were hosted at land-grant universities across the U.S.. These research labs focused on developing new genetics and growing practices in soybeans critical to U.S. and international growers. They had to close the entire program, laying off 30 scientists and researchers in 19 labs across 17 states.

https://www.linkedin.com/.../peter-goldsmith-66096495...
https://www.linkedin.com/.../nathanfaleide_acting-on...

* K State University lost up to $50 million that was pledged through a USAID Program over the next five years to advance research in “sustainable intensification,” an approach focused on increasing crop yields without expanding agricultural land use, expected to directly benefit Kansas (and U.S.) farmers.
SOURCES:
https://thisistopeka.com/.../k-state-losses-50-million.../

* China's retaliatory tariffs (although not yet on crops, we shall see) are expected to have a major impact on U.S. ag machinery manufacturers, who were already struggling and have had massive lay-offs over the last 12 months. China imported almost $800 million of U.S.-manufactured ag machinery in 2020.

And it goes on and on and on with new, major issues coming to light on a near-hourly basis. My heart hurts for U.S. farmers and U.S. farm communities, large and small, that are needlessly and thoughtlessly being impacted by this.
But hey, on the bright side, Trump banned those infuriating paper straws!
P.S. I'm making this public, so please, share away. I will also update this post as I hear about more impacts.
GB February 15, 2025, 10:30 am John, you are right on the money! Thank God the vast majority of Americans feel the same way. The true Democratic Party has abandoned the blue collar workers in this country and has evolved into a freak show of ethically challenged hate groups hell bent on destruction of everything Americans value. They attack everything from traditional families, religious freedoms, our schools and even our military.
Trump changed the Republican Party and fought for us as Americans. In doing so, the Democratic/ Socialist Party and their clan of corruption threw everything they had at him through a corrupted Justice Department.
No one (even the Left Wing crazies) should have any doubt that the Biden Crime Family and the radical Left are enemies of this country. Our founding fathers would have put them on trial for treason.
This whole problem started when they took God out of our schools and social programs started to encourage career and even reward single parent homes with no accountability on parents to actually be parents. The destruction of the traditional family unit in this country has been tragic for so many people for half a century.

I welcome having a "real" President back in the Whitehouse with a competent staff. One would be challenged to find a greater example of corruption within our government than what we have seen under the Biden Administration. The fact that Biden felt the need to issue blanket pardons for just about everyone involved with his administration speaks volumes. I hope DOGE keeps digging in every corner of the Federal Government and anyone taking kickbacks is prosecuted regardless of party affiliation.
GB February 16, 2025, 9:12 am So the Village Idiot, once again pops off with a bunch of nothing, again.

Elon Musk donates to a lot of charities but the Nazi party was not one of them. https://fortune.com/2022/12/12/elon-musk-gave-5-7-billion-to-charity-last-year-where-it-went-was-a-mystery-until-now/

He did donate over 55 million to St. Jude for Children but again that's not the Nazi Party. It's amazing how these idiots never complained about the blank checks to Ukraine by Biden or the massive fraud and spending Elon Musk has uncovered so far and all of that under the Executive Branch of the Biden Crime Family, who had to pardon his entire crime family.. it's amazing how they fail to mention the "real" fraud and wasteful spending..
DC February 17, 2025, 3:37 pm Looking at the swastika and Musk's new Tesla emblem from out in Left Field it's hard to tell the difference...

REALLY?

Later

JO February 17, 2025, 4:04 pm Well lets just start with Isaiah 44:18 "They do not know, nor do they understand, for He has smeared over their eyes so that they cannot see and their hearts so that they cannot comprehend." then move on over to Proverbs 29 - all of that is good but take note of 29:9 & 11 "When a wise man has a controversy with a foolish man, the foolish man either rages or laughs, and there is no rest." "A fool always loses his temper, but a wise man holds back." So be wise and do not argue with a fool lest you become the fool (Proverbs 26:4) But wait there's more... 2 Cor 4:4 states ..."in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they may not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." There is much more but I think those that know get the idea. If you aren't a child of God then you are a child of someone else and you either know and recognize the truth or you don't. We fight not against flesh and blood... the enemy is smart and crafty and he wants to destroy you and from what we're seeing in the world he's doing a fine job of it. Check your hearts and go to God and ask Him to open your eyes and let you see the truth. He'll do it.
Be blessed.
JS February 21, 2025, 5:57 pm thanks for all the comments
to our farmers who worry. I was farming during Reagan the farm crisis started way before. I was able to survive by going into other businesses
what really saved us was supply side economics by Art Laffer and Jack Kemp
changes must be made spending most be controlled.
