Opinion : Give the President a Lollipop

It's official, the White House has President Biden graduating from preschool this week and now he gets to go to a "big boy press conferences." I kid you not. Click on those words to listen.

Often while I'm working on another story, or creating ads, or researching something for a story I have various news channels running in the background. Something caught my attention this morning. It was the words "President Biden...big boy press conference."

I thought, "Surely I didn't hear that right..." So I did what I always do. When in doubt, google it. Sure enough, there it was.

As the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre held a press conference and battled the White House Press Corps, who is finally doing their job I might add, she told them that Biden would 'hold a press conference - a big boy press conference. 'The White House National Security Advisor repeated those words describing President Biden's schedule for the day. The scheduled he said included, "I guess a big boy press conference, we're calling it."

Wait. what?

So the president has his wife, on camera in front of the world, congratulating him for "answering every question" following the debate and now he's getting promoted to press conferences for "big boys." Now that doesn't seem quite fair. Shouldn't there be more steps between answering ALL the questions and going to a "big boy press conference?"

I mean shouldn't there be something like firing anyone in your staff that puts the words "big boy press conference" anywhere near your name? How derogatory. I'm kind of glad that President Biden won't even understand how much his staff is embarrassing him and making him look incompetent. I felt almost angry for him.

In my world, you respect your elders. Even if they do have dementia and even if they are of a different political leaning. Yet, our president is surrounded by people that appear to have no concept of that idea.

Granted, the press has done everything they can over the last 3.5 years to keep observations of Biden's health wrapped in "how dare you" themed wrapping paper and topping it off with a bow. But to those of us in the cornfields of Iowa, it's not a secret that, "the Emperor has no clothes..." as I type that I'm wondering how often that has literally happened on the third floor of the White House.

After being congratulated by his wife, the Dr. Jill for answering "EVERY QUESTION" in the debate, like a big boy, Joe got a trip to the Waffle House. I would guess that following his "big boy press conference" he will get rewarded with an ice cream cone. That is IF he uses the potty and doesn't have a little accident in his new Batman underwear...

It is days like this that I wonder how much talking Putin and Xi Jinping are doing. And it appears that it's too much. With a Russian warship parked a mere 200 miles off the coast of Florida and announcing that our President gets to go to a "big boy press conference" what could possibly go wrong???

As for Trump you can call him a felon, or say that he slept with around while married, (not that Clinton did) or bragged that if you are rich you can do anything you want with women, (which Clinton also did) which is probably true, but I miss the guy that talked to Russia, China and every other dictator and warned them not to do anything stupid. A bit of national security goes a long way. Bring back the Orange Man with the twitchy eye, if it won't be too late by January.

Wesley Hunt and Byron Donalds shared a story about how he deals with those who threaten us. The story of Trump talking through an interpreter to some terrorists, ending with "If you touch one hair on any American we'll kill you," or something to that effect, seems to be a little of what we need now.

There are so many reasons that Biden doesn't make me feel like we are safe. Do you remember that 3:00 a.m. phone call ad that Hillary ran? Well, don't try that with President Biden, the staff in the White House said he's only good from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. So I'm guessing the "big boy" meetings aren't at 3:00 a.m.

Putin knows it. Xi Jinping knows it as does every terrorist in the world.

So yeah, I am pondering some things while our fearless President makes his way into his "big boy" meeting. I don't know. For me, I'd rather have a guy that loves this country and has a bit of a twitchy eye making other world leaders wonder what he'll do if they attack, rather than wondering if Biden is napping instead of watching a Russian ship off our shores.
