Dear Editor:
It has just come to my attention by an email and video from my good friend from Arizona that the average American worker working from High School to 65 can expect an average benefit from Social Security of $1,400 plus change per month, but the Biden Administration is paying the illegal wave crossing our Southern border paying them $2,200 per month. What in Godโs name is President Biden thinking? And I ask you critics out there โ why are you a Democrat and why are you supporting Joe Biden??? How can this be fair to the average worker and rank-and-file union member???? I await your response!!!!
Note: I was a Union member for 31 years- mandatory membership was required and paying dues monthly was required (the highest as I recall was $175 per month) โ this was an agency shop and if dues were not paid firing from the company was in the immediate future. This is far from freedom of choice. What say you?

-Some illegal immigrants have SSNs. It is these folks, that if they have income in our country, they're eligible for an annual payment through the ๐๐๐๐ and ๐๐๐๐ programs. Those are one time payments per year, as long as the can report income.
-No undocumented immigrant receives any money from any federal government program.
-I can't find any information on $1400/month being an average Social Security payment. I do have a worksheet that reports that someone working from 18-65 at minimum wage would be eligible for $1650 - $1700 at time of retirement. (Based on figures in 2017)
It seems like anyone that cares to find truthful answers to their questions, would want to be a Democrat. As the alternative doesn't promote truth in hardly anything.

a) Regarding social security benefits and immigrant benefits:
* Immigrant benefits include Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Supplimental Nutritioon Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Emergency Medicaid (including labor and delivery).
* All of these benefits are available to every needful person in the USA regardless of immigration status.
* Comparison of these mainly temporary humanitarian benefits with the guaranteed lifetime benefits of social security retirement is unfortunate, misleading, and misguided.
* Quoting an average social security benefit for someone who started working after high school 50 years ago is just plain wrong. Changes in wage levels, consumer prices, post-HS education/training, differing needs of 20-somethings compared to retirees, make your comparison not just apples-to-oranges, but more like apples-to-screwdrivers!
b) Regarding union concerns:
* It sounds like you voluntarily stayed in a situation involving your loss of freedom for over 30 years.
* I assume this was a situation where you continually reviewed (and accepted) the costs and benefits of union membership. I admit that perhaps you are simply a living example of the thoughts behind Meredith Willson's "Iowa Stubborn" song in the production of "Music Man"?

Just because a friend emailed you something does not mean that it is true and should be passed on without verificaton. NO, THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION IS NOT GIVING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS $2,200 A MONTH.
A quick search on the internet has produced multiple sources debunking this statement. A few of those links are below. The original statement came from the vaping and groping Rep. Boebert, a source that should have raised concerns right away.
This is what wrong with our society now. People see something onsocial media and send it out without if checking to see if it is true. Others read it and pass it on as fact.
