Opinion : Letter to the Editor: Heresay

After two weeks of hearings and testimony still no proof of Treason, Bribery or high crimes and misdemeanors.   What we do have is hearsay two or more times removed and opinion of those testifying that they were not consulted while the President acted on foreign policy to Ukraine.  The President whoever he or she may be, is the ultimate decider of foreign policy, not any diplomat or Ambassador, or any employee of the Department of State.  Many times I disagreed with President Obama's policies.  The only remedy was to complain. Whatever it is - it is.

By the way, I am not a Republican.  I am a classic liberal American.  True I do tend to vote the R, but that is only because the other candidates are liberal or downright Socialist/Marxist/Communists.  I believe in capitalism, free markets, low taxes, and small government.  And, yes there are too many RHINOs who have no spine.

If one chooses, it is easy to overlook the lawlessness or lack of ethics of previous Administrations:

• Lois Lerner, former unit director IRS, who would not act on applicants’ for 501 3c 1023 tax-exempt status because they were conservative groups.  
• Susan Rice former Advisor to Pres. Obama
• Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who lied about the cause (a video that no one saw) of the Benghazi debacle that ended with the deaths of four Americans:  
• The unconstitutional and unlawful DACA executive order by Pres. Obama.  
• Samantha Powers former Ambassador to the UN and other positions in the Obama and Clinton Administrations -  “On May 31, 2017, Power's testimony and relevant records were subpoenaed by the House Intelligence Committee as part of its investigation into the purposeful unmasking of Americans whose conversations she deliberately obtained from intelligence surveillance.”  Wikipedia.   This was an unlawful use of this unmasking, but nothing more than a wrist slap.  
• And there is V.P. Joe Biden withholding funds from Ukraine until a prosecutor is fired.  Unlawful surveillance of the Donald Trump and campaign associates by government elements headed by James Comey, James Clapper, John Brennan and other hierarchy of the FBI, National Security and intelligence agencies - - until now not investigated. 
  

If any elected or appointed official of the United States Government is impeached and/or removed from office it must be for cause, not just because he/she is not liked or because he/she is hated.  Treason has not been committed, bribery cannot be proven, so far no high crimes or misdemeanors --so what else is to be thrown against the wall in hopes that it sticks?  Whatever comes as charges against the President must be fair and reasoned and proven.  If one only watches the major TV(CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN outlets), The NYTimes, or Washington Post then there is only one conclusion- “throw the bum out!” --   I don’t buy it -- Hatred or dislike does not cut it.   

If the critics would read the books I suggested then you would read that what I wrote about the housing crises and the loss of millions by investors as myself was the direct result of progressive policy.  Kimberly Strassel’s and Lee Smith’s books are educational as well.  As I have previously stated Social Crusaders never take responsibility for the chaos they cause.
