Opinion : Do you take our community for granted?

When people from out of town stop into our businesses, they frequently say- your town always has something going on. Do you take this for granted? 

There are lots of little towns who might hold an annual celebration and very little in between.  Do you take advantage of everything our town has to offer from the Lion’s Club trailer of food at the football games to the town celebrations? 

The Kiwanis Club’s pancake breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt that they hold for all the little kids.  Do you take for granted all the great programs that our Park and Rec Dept offers for our kids and how they keep expanding, especially to include the mother son nerf wars! 

Do you take part in Party in the Park?  We are so fortunate to have FREE rides for kids, FREE music entertainment and a wonderful variety of food that weekend. 

This weekend we have the annual Kiddie Parade and games on the Courthouse lawn. 

We live in a community where we are FORTUNATE to constantly have things going on. 

What do you do to contribute to the community?  Do you have an event you would like to see? 

We’re launching our One Book One Community Activities starting November 1.  We’re looking forward to seeing new faces and new participants as well as the regular faces.
