VINTON:  Inez Irene Worthen, 103 of Vinton died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vinton.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, February 18, 2013 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 East Sixth Street) in Vinton with Pastor Phil Borleske officiating.  Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 – 4 PM on Sunday also at the funeral home.  A Memorial Fund has been established. 

      Inez was born February 10, 1910 the daughter of Herman Gulick and Edna Reddington.  During 10th grade she moved to be with her mother, Edna Thomsen and step-father, Albert.  She was united in marriage to W.A. “Bill” Worthen on January 15, 1929 at Prairie Creek Church near Vinton, he preceded her in death on April 25, 1992.  Inez enjoyed working outdoors and was very proud of her gardens and flowers. 

     She is survived by her daughter, Lois Rommann of Vinton; two grandchildren, Danise (Wayne) Shannon of Vinton and Dennis (Betty) Rommann of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; three great grandchildren, Bryan Baldus of Mt. Morris, Illinois, Trent (Ale) Rommann of Wichita, Kansas; Ryan Rommann of Singapore and two half sisters, Berneice and Evelyn.

     In addition to her parents and husband, Inez was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Oren Rommann; great grandson, Bradley Baldus; one brother; three sisters; four half-brothers and one half-sister.

TR February 16, 2013, 8:05 pm Great Grandma \"Tweet\" was such a special person. Weather it was her chicken noodles or holidays at Grandma Lois and Oren\'s house, memories of her bring a smile to our face and a warmth to our hearts. We will miss her very much but take comfort knowing that she is now reunited with our Great Grandpa Tweet.
