Calvin Sprecher, 57, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at his residence after suffering an apparent heart attack. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton. Interment will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may register at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday.

A memorial fund has been established.

Calvin was born Sept. 17, 1955, in Baltimore, Md., to Carl and Patricia (Cross) Sprecher. He was united in marriage to Linda Mynatt in Baltimore. Calvin was a shift superintendent at Associate Materials in Cedar Rapids.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Newhall; his son, Bryan Sprecher of Texas; his daughter, Julie Sprecher of Maryland; his stepdaughter, Dawn Sayers of Maryland; four grandchildren; his brothers, Carl, Charles and Alan Sprecher; and his sisters, Charlotte Cullings, Cheryl Scharff, Carolyn Sprecher and Carla Jester.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
