KEYSTONE:     Ruth Rosette (Jensen) Albers, age 93, died Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center, where she had been a resident since December of 2009.

     Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone with Rev. B. Andrew Wright officiating.  Interment will be at the Keystone Cemetery.   Friends may call at the Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.  Memorials may be given to the Herbert H. Roehr Parkinsons Disease Research Foundation, the Keystone Cemetery Association or the charity of the donors choice.

     Ruth was born January 31, 1919 on the Luzerne family farm, the daughter of Gustav F. and Rosette (Rieck) Jensen. 

     On August 16, 1940 she was united in marriage to Leonard Albers at the St. Paul's Lutheran Parsonage in Luzerne.  The couple farmed the Albers family farm near Keystone and moved to town in 1972.  Leonard Preceded Ruth in death on March 19, 1975.

    Ruth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the St. John Quilters.  She enjoyed bus trips with friends to various parts of the United States and was a member of several card clubs.  Ruth loved to crochet afghans as wedding gifts for her great nieces and nephews.

      She is survived by two nieces; Alice (Ray) Junge of Keystone, Carolyn (Larry) Sayers of Dayton, OH; two nephews, Keith (Sally) Tatge of Kingman, AZ, Wayne (Betty) Tatge of Temple, TX; her in-law niece, Daisy Roehr of Marion; her sister-in-law, Madora Jensen of Williamsburg; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents and her husband Leonard, she was preceded in death by her children Beverly and James at birth; her sisters, Viola (Carl) Roehr and Dorothy (Earl) Tatge;  brother, Arnold Jensen; niece, Mardene Mackey; nephew, Herb Roehr and her in-laws Herman and Elsie Albers.
