KEYSTONE: Beth P. Offt, age 85, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 from complications of Alzheimers disease at the Vinton Lutheran Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone with Rev. Richard Osslund officiating. Interment will be at the Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call at the church in Keystone from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A memorial fund has been established.
Beth was born March 29, 1927 in Keystone the daughter of Grover and Edna (Pohlmann) Lechtenberg and graduated from the Keystone High School in 1944.
On June 8, 1947 she was united in marriage to Donald Offt in Keystone. Beth and her husband made their home in Keystone until 1959 when they moved to Vinton and raised their two daughters. In 1973 they moved back to Keystone. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and Iowa Hawkeye Basketball. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Beth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary for 77 years, the Keystone Turnerettes, Twelve Belles Pot Luck Club, Monday Night Pot Luck Club and the Pepper Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Craig) Lubbock of Conroe, TX and Nancy Scott of Vinton; 4 grandchildren, Christopher Lubbock of Spring, TX, Corey Lubbock of Conroe, TX, Ryan (Brandi) Scott of Cedar Rapids and Shane (Lainie) Scott of Vinton; 7great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan and Joshua Lubbock of Spring, TX, Isabella and Bradley Lubbock, also of Spring, TX, Jace and Hayden Scott of Cedar Rapids; and her nephew Scott Linkham of Amarillo, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald in 1990, her son-in-law Bob Scott in 2002 and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Vinton Lutheran Home and Hospice Compassus for their wonderful care.
