Beth Geater, 80, of Vinton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at  the Vinton Lutheran Home.  

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2026, at  Blessed Hope Church, Vinton,  with Pastor David Condry officiating.  Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the church.   Van  Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Beth and her family.  


Beth was born September 29, 1945, in  Oskaloosa, the daughter of Howard and Majel (Wyatt) Allgood. She graduated from  Washington High School, Vinton,  in 1963.  


Beth was united in marriage to Rick Geater on November 3, 1963, at First Baptist Church in Vinton, and together they shared many years of marriage and family life.  


Beth dedicated much of her life to her family as a homemaker. She found joy in gardening and music and especially loved singing and playing the organ and piano. Beth also had a deep love for her cats and dogs.    She will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and for the warmth and care she gave to those around her.  


Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Rick Geater of Vinton; her son, Scott Geater of Vinton; her daughter, Kim (Rick) Dripps of Reinbeck; two grandchildren, Corey Dripps and Amber (Jeff) Coe; six great-grandchildren:  Takoda, Madison, Coby, Lily, Brayton, and Amalia; along with many other relatives and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Stanley and Ida Geater.
