Lucy M. Martens, 56, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at her home in Shellsburg.

A Celebration of life to be held at a later date.

Lucy was born April 24, 1969, in New York City and was adopted by Edward and Mary “Rita” (Bennington) Dillon. She graduated from Metro High School in 1989. On October 1, 1988, she was united in marriage to Charlie Martens.

Lucy loved bar bingo, casinos, camping, and game shows. She also loved being a grandmother.

Lucy is survived by her husband, Charlie; her sons, John Martens, Colin Martens, Steven (Brittany) Martens, and Charles (Brittany) Martens; her grandchildren, Jaxsen McFatridge, Charlotte Martens, and Deegan Martens; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Rita.
