Beverly Elizabeth Squiers, 83, of Chelsea, Iowa passed away on Friday, April 24th, 2026, due to complications from cancer, under the loving care of her family. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 30th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1st at 10:30 a.m. at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral home, burial to follow at Rector Cemetery, rural Chelsea, with a luncheon after. 

Beverly was born June 3, 1942, in Newton, Iowa to Virgil E. and Grace Adams. She spent her first 10 years on her Grandpa Adams’ family farm near Kellogg, before her dad purchased his farm 5 miles north of Malcom. She attended country schools in Jasper and Poweshiek counties through the 8th grade. Beverly attended 9th and 10th grade at Malcom High School before attending 11th and 12th grade at Grinnell High School. During high school she started working at Grinnell State Bank where she continued to work after graduation through 1964. She married Larry Leydens in 1961, to this union her first daughter Connie was born, they later divorced. Her brother Ronnie soon introduced her to her future husband Keith Squiers. They were united in marriage on November 7, 1964, at the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church and Keith adopted Connie. To this union Phillip, Sonja and Janet were born. They first made their home on a farm west of Hartwick before buying their farm southwest of Chelsea on the banks of Richland Creek in 1968, where she was a full-time mother and farmwife. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, crafts, roller skating in her younger years and dancing throughout her whole life. Beverly enjoyed family vacations and attending the Iowa State Fair. She faithfully attended her children and grandchildren’s school activities, enjoyed family reunions, was a proud member of the Grinnell High School Class of 1960 and in her later years enjoyed attending monthly class coffees and her “gals’ lunches.”

Beverly is survived by her children Connie (Mike) Ledvina of Toledo, Phillip Squiers, Chelsea, Sonja Squiers, Des Moines, and Janet (Al Gulden) Squiers, Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; her grandchildren Amy (Derek) Townsend, Chelsea, and Adam Ledvina, Chelsea. Great grandchildren Haven, Lucy, Judah, Davis and Cornelius Clay Townsend, Chelsea; sister-in-law Phyllis Squiers, Eagan, Minnesota, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, husband, great-granddaughter, Micaela Townsend and brother, Ronnie Adams.

Memorials may be directed to the Chelsea Fire Department, Tama Ambulance Service or Iowa River Hospice. Many thanks to these services for their assistance.
