Darlus Jean Selken, 88, of Holiday Lake and formerly of Keystone, passed away April 20, 2026.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 27, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, Iowa with Rev. Josiah Schultz officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at Keystone Cemetery.

Darlus was born on July 2, 1937, to Ralph and Verna (Schoelerman) Andresen. She graduated from Keystone High School in 1955. Darlus was united in marriage to Duane Selken at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone on February 4, 1956.

Darlus and her husband farmed north of Keystone for 36 years. During this time, they raised two daughters, Sheryl and Sharla, and watched their two grandchildren during the weekdays. After retirement, they made their home at Holiday Lake, where they enjoyed the view, boating, and spending time with friends.

Darlus was an excellent cook. She was always trying new recipes and loved sharing them with family. Everyone who has passed by their lake house knows she loved decorating her home for every holiday. She taught her daughters and granddaughter to cook, and passed on her love of holiday décor. She also loved shopping and seeing what deals she could find.

Darlus is survived by her husband of 70 years, Duane; her daughters, Sheryl (Mike) Fischer, and Sharla Selken; her granddaughter, Michelle (Tyler); and great-granddaughter, Avery; and her brother, Dennis Andresen.

Darlus was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Verna; her grandson, Mitch Fischer; brother-in-law, Donald Selken; and sisters-in-law, Donna Selken, and Joyce Andresen.
