Charles “Chuck” Wayne Eldred, 84, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly from Urbana, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Meth-Wick Community. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Urbana, Iowa, with visitation two hours prior. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Spencer's Grove, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Center Point is assisting the family.

Chuck was born on January 4, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Asa Ray and Bernice (Wessel). He was a 1960 graduate of Urbana High School and went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. On April 11, 1964, Chuck was united in marriage to Charlotte Jean Zieser in Urbana. He worked for Farmers Mutual Telephone Cooperative of Shellsburg and then USA Communications until his retirement in 2004. Chuck was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Urbana. Family and faith have always been very important to Chuck. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Chuck is survived and lovingly remembered by his six children, Craig (Dianne) Eldred, Christine (Marty) Parbs, Calvin (Christi) Eldred, Cheryl (Christopher) Wells, Curtis (Kelly) Eldred, and Chad (Christie) Eldred; grandchildren, Matthew (Jamie Colman) Eldred, Kelsey Eldred, Kasey Parbs, Hannah Parbs, Calvin John “CJ” (Olivia) Eldred, Luke (Megan) Eldred, Emily Eldred, Abigail Eldred, Hollee Eldred, Elizabeth (Sergio) Garzon, Zachary (Jennifer) Wells, Nicholas (Lacey) Wells, Carter Eldred, Makayla Eldred, and Daniel Eldred; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Calvin III, Rylee, Asa, Rhys, Addison, Sloan, Nicholas, Colter, Tucker, Max, and Lucas; brothers, Duane (Janice) Eldred and Steven (Carol) Eldred.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlotte Eldred; sister, Saranne J. Howland; and brother, Joseph Eldred.

Memorials in Chuck’s memory may be directed to Meth-Wick Community or St. Mary Catholic Church in Urbana.
