Obituaries : Darrel E. Keller

Darrel E. Keller, 84 of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the Iowa Veteran Home in Marshalltown. Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Teahen Funeral Home with a burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior to the service starting at 12:30 p.m. till service time. 

Darrel is survived by his daughter, Patricia Keller of Nebraska; 6 grandchildren, JJ, Skylar, Makinzee, Caylee, Natalie and Emily; five brothers, Eldon Keller of Vinton, Carol Keller of Phoenix, AZ, Johnny Keller of Phoenix, AZ, Gary (Silvia) Keller of Vinton and Richard (Cindy) Keller of Watkins; and many other family members.  

Darrel was preceded in death by son, Arafauntolis Royce and many other family members.

Darrel was born on August 29, 1941 son of John G. and Gladys U. (VanDee) Keller in North English. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Darrel worked as an electrical engineer at General Mills for several years.

Darrel enjoyed doing something all the time, tinkering with things, building something, just staying busy.  He was passionate about being in the Navy and where he worked at General Mills.  Darrel especially loved being with his grandchildren and family.   

Memorials may be directed to the family for a charity of their choice in Darrel’s name.
