Harold Ivan Alcott, 79, of Belle Plaine, IA, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in the home he built surrounded by his family.

Born on November 15, 1946 in Vinton, Iowa to Doris and Harold Elllis Alcott, Harold was the beloved husband of Mary Fitzgerald Alcott (married July 2nd, 1966 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Belle Plaine) and the proud and loving father of Kelly Alcott, Eric (Jill) Alcott, and Ivy (Aaron) Hultquist.  

A dedicated and hardworking man, Harold spent 40 years of his life serving his community as a chiropractor in Belle Plaine, IA. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1969 from Palmer College of Chiropractic, a testament to his commitment and passion for helping others. His legacy as a chiropractor touched countless lives, and he will be remembered for his unwavering kindness and dedication to his patients and family. He also served the community as a Rotarian and in the Knights of Columbus.

Harold was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Kyra, Trey, Kendra, Kiley, and Ty Alcott, and Ava and Annika Hultquist. He found immense joy in watching his grandchildren grow, often attending their sports and dance events, cheering them on with a heart full of pride. 

He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, sister Billie (Glen) Rammelsberg, brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Belle Plaine, IA. Visitation is 9-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine.
