Marcine “Chub” Harms, 85 of Atkins, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 11a.m. to 1p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home before the service. Services: 1p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026 at Teahen Funeral Home. Burial will take place Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 1p.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Chub is survived by his loving wife, Renee Harms of Atkins; his sons Michael (Glenda) Harms, Steve (Laura) Harms of Cedar Rapids; a daughter Megan (Brad) Shanahan of Silver Creek, GA; six grandchildren, Grace (Taylor) Viktora, Connor, Nathan (Layka Cheney), and Nick Harms, Coady (Kered) and Emmalee Shanahan; and four great grand-children Briggs and Bryant Viktora and Elby and Raelynn Shanahan; mother-in law Karen Kleinmeyer; brother-in-law Danny (Teresa) Kleinmeyer; sisters-in-law Mickey (Bob) Lowe and Janette Azevedo of Cedar Rapids; and his dachshund, Parker.
Chub was preceded in death by three sisters, Viola Bahnsen, Betty Harms and Vivian Curtis; and four brothers, Duwayne, Donald, Raymond and Kenneth Harms; and father-in-law Neil Kleinmeyer.
Marcine Silivan Harms was born on June 4, 1940, son of Edward and Irene (Hines) Harms in Strawberry Point, Iowa. On February 11, 1992, Chub was united in marriage to Renee Kleinmeyer. He retired from Iowa Manufacturing/Terex after 40 years of driving fork truck
delivering product everywhere in the plant.
Chub enjoyed time with his family, deer and mushroom hunting, fishing, and going to Las Vegas to play the slots. He loved watching his Vikings and the Hawkeyes play. After the grandchildren and great-grandchildren were born, family time became even more precious to him.
Memorials may be directed to the family for an established memorial fund.
