Adam James Wauters, 32, of Elberon, Iowa, passed away on January 6, 2026.

Adam was born on February 24, 1993, in New Hampton, Iowa and later moved with his family to the Elberon area. He graduated from North Tama High School in 2011 and went on to earn his Bachler’s of Science degree in Precision Agriculture from Iowa State University. Following his education, Adam farmed alongside his father and sold seed corn. Most recently, Adam worked as the Sales Manager for McGrath Power Sports in Cedar Rapids.

In 2016, Adam married Emily Hayek, and together they welcomed their daughter, Lillian, in 2018. Though Adam and Emily later went their separate ways, their shared love for Lillian remained constant.

Adam felt most at peace outdoors—hunting coyotes, fishing the family ponds, four-wheeling, or simply spending time on the farm. He enjoyed playing softball, golfing with his brother, and gathering with friends at Iowa State football games.

Above all else, Adam treasured time with his family, including a “trip of a lifetime” with his grandparents, Steve and Judy, to Ireland to watch the Iowa State football game. The three of them shared a bond filled with love and gratitude. Adam always made sure his grandparents knew just how much they meant to him. He cherished every moment with his daughter, excited in watching her grow.

Adam will be remembered for his funny, jokester sense of humor and his ever-present smile. Adam had a soft heart and cared deeply for those around him. He brought laughter wherever he went and made people feel welcome. His kindness and love for family and friends will never be forgotten.

Adam is survived by his parents, Tracy and Lance Wauters of Elberon; daughter, Lillian Wauters; brother, Layne Wauters; along with many loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Taylor Wauters; and grandmother, Dianne Wauters.
