Phillip “Phil” Keith Price, 84, of Vinton, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with burial to follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Phil was born on August 31, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the son of William and Phyliss (Ramsey) Price. The youngest of six children, he grew up in a lively household and graduated from Jefferson High School as a member of its first graduating class in 1960.

Following high school, Phil enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served from 1960 to 1965. After his military service, he returned to Cedar Rapids and dedicated 37 years to Quaker Oats on the third shift. He took great pride in his work and in his role as both an active union member and a steadfast leader among his coworkers.  He was united in marriage to Sandra Smith on August 31, 1968, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Phil had a lifelong curiosity and a genuine love of technology. From the moment computers became part of everyday life, he was captivated. His favorite pastime was playing aviation simulation games, which allowed him to virtually explore places around the world. He also enjoyed traveling, with memorable trips to Washington, D.C., Dallas, and the Grand Canyon. One of the greatest honors of his life was participating in an Eastern Iowa Honor Flight.

Phil is survived by his children, Kelly (Kirk) Steffen, Pam Price and significant other, Rob Franck; his grandchildren, Ryan Willger, Kathleen (Tyler) Rippel, and Rebecca Steffen; his great-granddaughter, Lyla Jo Rippel; and his sister, Bonita Price. In his final years, he was blessed with an extraordinary support system in Vinton, especially through the loving care of his “adopted daughter,” Megan Rickels.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, his spouse, Sandra Price, and siblings, Shirley Barta, Russell Price, Donald Price, and Willard Price.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
