Obituaries : Becky Sue Coleman Ray

Becky Sue Coleman Ray, passed away November 29, 2025 at Belle Plaine Specialty Care of a short illness.

Becky was born on September 23, 1971, in Marengo, Iowa to James and Bonnie (Kalina) Coleman. She attended Belle Plaine Community Schools and graduated in 1990.  Becky spent most of her adult life in Cedar Rapids before recently returning to Belle Plaine.

Becky was a kind, passionate, and caring person who touched many lives with her great sense of humor and endearing smile. She loved to fish, garden, and can her garden abundance.  She enjoyed cooking and was a great cook. She loved to spend time with her family, friends, and beloved dog, Stella. Becky loved her dogs and spent many hours working at the animal shelter. She was loved dearly by everyone whose path she crossed.

Becky is survived by her mother, Bonnie; siblings, William Coleman of Belle Plaine, Patrick Coleman of Cedar Rapids, Tammy Carlson of Marion, and Dale Coleman of Belle Plaine; along with many loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father (2009); and beloved pets.

The family would like to thank Belle Plaine Specialty Care for showing her love and compassion during these difficult months.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 12-2 PM at the Belle Plaine Community Center. Everyone who knew Becky is invited to attend. Burial will take place at Haven Cemetery, Chelsea, Iowa at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with her burial.
