Obituaries : Scotty Lee Blocker

Scotty Lee Blocker, 60, lifetime resident of La Porte City, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, under hospice care at La Porte City Specialty Care.

Scotty was born on January 1, 1965, in Waterloo, to Gary and Dorthy (Wester) Blocker. He was a 1984 graduate of La Porte City High School.

Scotty spent several years working for Iowa Premium Beef Inc. in Tama. He absolutely loved spending time outdoors, exploring new sights, driving tractors around the family farm, and had a real passion for vegetable gardening. Scotty often enjoyed curling up to watch a cozy Hallmark movie. He will be remembered fondly as one of the best window washers around.

He is preceded in death by his father, and sister, Sherry Mesenbrink.

Scotty is survived by his mother, Dorothy Blocker of La Porte City; brother, Steven Blocker of Marengo; nephew, Clint Mesenbrink of Dike; and many cousins who will all miss him dearly.

Memorial Gathering and Funeral Service: Family to receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Locke in La Porte City, 606 East Main Street, La Porte City. Funeral Service to follow at 10:30 a.m. with inurnment to follow at West View Cemetery.
