Obituaries : Deana Garetson (Dee)

Deana Garetson (Dee), 77, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025 at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

Dee was born January 7, 1948, in Manchester and graduated from Starmont High School in 1966. After high school, Dee worked at Rockwell as an operator for 34 years and later retired from Trapeze, living in Center Point.

Dee loved crocheting, planting her flower gardens, watching westerns, feeding and watching the birds and spending time with her family.

Dee is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry Garetson; her children, Mike (Barb) West of Walker, IA, Tammy Stephenson (Charlie Morris) of Vinton, IA, David (Flo) Garetson of Seattle, WA, and Diane Moscke of Cedar Rapids, IA. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Austin, Amber, Samantha, Katelyn, Abigail, Tyler, Matthew, Britney, John; 3 sisters, Linda, Freida, Cindy; and 1 brother,;Chris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Brady and Marjorie (Hook) Brady, along with aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Dee’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
