Meredeth “Mary” Kay Huber, 55, of Belle Plaine, Iowa, passed away at her home on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. A private family burial will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Ladora. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.neuhausfuneralservice.com.

Mary was born January 2, 1970, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Letta (Doran) Huber. She grew up in Marengo, where she attended Iowa Valley High School. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Mary spent many years as a waitress before working in home health care with Home Instead of Cedar Rapids, where she found joy in caring for others.

Mary had a lifelong love of animals, especially horses and dogs. She also had a special way with children and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Known for her kind and forgiving nature, Mary truly had a heart of gold. Above all, she deeply loved her children and never let a day pass without reminding them of that love.

She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.

Mary is survived by her children, Kendra Thede and Tavien Thede; six siblings; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbors who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dillon Thede; niece Bella Loffer.

HW September 26, 2025, 1:21 am I will miss her. She was there for me when I really needed someone who knew me. We enjoyed our time together again after many years of knowing each other.I can't believe she is gone. To her family members, you know she was a good person and loved her kids dearly.

Getting to know her the last couple years, hearing her heartfelt honest comments,of love despite the struggles, smiling despite the difficulties, her beautiful heart always shined through.And a faith and hope she had deep within that never died. Very precious lady. Sending love, prayers and hugs for her loved ones.
