GARRISON – Marjorie Ann Krug, age 84, of Garrison, died peacefully Thursday, August 11, 2011, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011, at Van
Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton with Rev. Lanette Sue Van officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, August 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services on Monday. Interment will be in Garrison Cemetery.
Marjorie was born February 25, 1927 on the family farm south of Garrison, the daughter of Earl Clifford and Clarinda Isabelle Brewer Chizum. She attended country school and graduated from Garrison High School in 1945. Marjorie married Kenneth Krug on March 7, 1946, at the Methodist Church in Vinton.
Kenny and Marjorie farmed south of Garrison on the farm where she was raised. She was a member of the Garrison United Methodist Church and the Navy Mothers. Marjorie and Kenny enjoyed their membership in the Cedar Valley Polka Club and the Dysart Square Dance Club. She also enjoyed music, her flower gardens and her cats.
Marjorie is survived by four sons: David (and his partner Marvin Kerr) of North Liberty, IA, Larry (Allyn) Krug of Long Grove, IA, Lyle Krug of Cedar Rapids, and Tom Krug of Oak Harbor, WA; two daughters: Connie (Milo) Kearns of rural Shellsburg, IA, and Kathy Krug of West Branch, IA; niece Phyllis (Howard) Peterson, Waterloo, IA; daughter-in-law, Renee Krug of Remsen, IA; brother-in-law, Ervin (Darlene) Krug, La Porte City, IA; sisters-in-law, Vera Nissen, Oklahoma City, OK, and Nadine Krug, Mt. Auburn, IA;13 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother and sister; husband, Kenny; son, Lloyd and her sister, Rachel.
Memorials may be directed to St. Luke’s Hospice or the Keystone Nursing Care Center.

loss of your Mother. She and your Dad were
the best neighbors and we loved you kids
too. We lived on the Ernie Reiss farm when
you were little and a couple of you boys
