Following a brief illness with congestive heart failure,  William ¢â‚¬Å“Bill ¢â‚¬ �  J.  Barkdoll, 68, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center.  A Celebration of Life will be  Saturday, October 26, 2024, from  3:00 to 6:00  p.m,with a short informal ceremony at 4:00 p.m.,  at the Farmer ¢â‚¬â„¢s Mercantile  Hall,  Garrison.  Van  Steenhuyse-Teahen  Funeral Home, Vinton, is caring for Bill and his family.

Bill was born July 8, 1956, in  Omaha, NE,  the son of  Richard and Margaret (Wray) Barkdoll.  He graduated from  PlatteviewHigh  School in  Springville, NE.  On May 5, 1979, Bill was united in marriage to Colette Packingham at St. Mark ¢â‚¬â„¢s Lutheran Church, Garrison.  The couple  later  divorced, but remained each other ¢â‚¬â„¢s ¢â‚¬Å“best friend ¢â‚¬ �.  Bill was self-employed as a general contractor  and owner/operator of   ¢â‚¬Å“Barkdoll Painting ¢â‚¬ �  and   ¢â‚¬Å“Do It All Barkdoll ¢â‚¬ �.

Bill enjoyed dune buggy racing, slot machines, helping build race team owner, Leo Jackson ¢â‚¬â„¢s home in North Carolina,  and spending time as a ¢â‚¬Å“Happy Hour ¢â‚¬ � guy.

Bill is survived by his children: Dustin Barkdoll, Vanessa Kearns and Dallas (Felicia Pettit) Barkdoll; eight grandchildren: Passion Barkdoll, Ryelin, Davis, Sterling and Olin Kearns, and Bentley, Bracelynn and Bailee Barkdoll; three sisters: Jean (Rick) Pfeifle, Joyce (Dave) Kramer, and Mary (Ray) Kiernan; life partner, Colette Barkdoll; and numerous other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, David Barkdoll.
