Lloyd J. "Dude" "Butch" Lovell, 75, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, with his wife, Ann and friend, Lonnie by his side.

He was born May 1, 1948 in Benton County, Iowa to the late Lloyd and Barbara Lovell. He served in the United States Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. He loved fishing, woodworking, making friends and helping anyone he could. He loved his family, friends, his little dog "Lucille", telling jokes and decorating for Halloween.

In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Hobbs and Eileen Wilson; and brother, Lyle Lovell.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Self Lovell; sons, David Lovell (Lorraine), Doug Lovell (Marsha), Josh Lovell, Chance Garifo, and Joe Garifo (Becca); daughters, Alessia Hatley of the home, Misty Agee (Steve), and Tammy Slaton (Jamie); 6 grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Bumgarner (Rocky), Luella Martinec, Bessie Todd, Charlotte Vasquez, and Beulah Feuerhelm; brothers, Bill Lovell (Debra), Raymond Lovell, and Troy Lovell; best friends, Lonnie Cook and Alvis Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements: There was a memorial service held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 27, at the Salisbury National Cemetery.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

DLC October 5, 2023, 5:31 pm My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Butch was my first cousin. My dad James was his dad's younger brother. I had not seen Butch in years but thought of him often. Was a good guy. Prayers to family and friends.
