Matthew D. Zach, 62, of Van Horne, passed away on Sept. 5, 2023, at Winslow House Care Center. A visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Matt was born on Aug. 12, 1961, to Garfey and Kay (Schneider) Zach in Cedar Rapids where he lived for most of his life. He worked driving a forklift for many years. He was a big fan of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhart. He was a Hawkeye fan and liked to watch the football games on TV.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister Kathy (Mark) Meyers; several aunts and uncles; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Matt was preceded in death by his parents Garfey and Kay; brother Garfey III and sisters Jean and Diane.
