Private family graveside services with military rites will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.
"Butch" was born on May 5, 1946, in Vinton, the son of Beryl Lynford and Dorothy (Dulin) Scott. He graduated from Washington High School in Vinton, and earned an Associate's degree from Kirkwood Community College. He served his Country in the United States Air Force from 1965 through 1969, during the Viet Nam War, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
Butch worked as a sheet metal machinist at Geater's Manufacturing in Independence. He enjoyed cruising around town and visiting with friends in the community. Butch loved being outdoors and collected arrowheads for many years.
He is survived by his children, Lori (Roy) Wasson, Ryan (Suzie) Neatrour, Jessica (Dan) Dimmig, Brandy Womochil; and 7 grandchildren, Valori, Sarah, Rachael, Gannon, Taylor, Chloe, and Kahle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tonya Scott; granddaughter, Macy Bell, sister Edie Goodell; and brother David Scott.
