Shirley J. Becker, 86, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, February 22, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 25 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parkers Grove Cemetery, Shellsburg.

Shirley was born June 21, 1935 at Blairstown, IA, the daughter of Virgil and Adelaide (Ginther) King. She attended school in Blairstown. On February 18, 1952, Shirley married the love of her life, Glenn Becker. After making their home in various locations, the couple settled on their farm at rural Walker where they have lived for over 50 years. Shirley was a very active member of Church of Christ which she and Glenn attended.

For many years, Shirley owned and operated Spencer's Grove Antiques. If not on the road looking for antiques, you could find Shirley gardening or "grooming" Grandma's National Park.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 70 years, Glenn; daughters: Carole (Steve) Eldred of Center Point and Karen (Paul) Enos of Walker; sister, Lauretta Furler, Marengo; grandchildren: Carol Gibbs, Joe (Sandy) Kearns, Julie (Scott) Rouse, Paul Hoefer, Joseph Eldred, Jessica (Rich) Toomsen, Matthew (Jennifer) Enos, Paul Enos, Scott (Bobbie Jo) Enos, Christopher (Kari) Enos and Nicholas Enos; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law and church family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Juanita) Becker; granddaughter, Angie Hoeffer; grandson, John Gibbs; great-grandson, Tanner Tharp; brother, Leonard Holts; and sister, Betty Stewart.

A memorial fund has been established.
