Obituaries : Richard Gene Geltz Sr.

Richard Gene Geltz Sr. was born December 6, 1936, to Dorothy and Glen. He left this earthly life on January 6, 2022, to join family and friends in heaven. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dick graduated from Brandon High School in 1954, then attended Coe College. He was an avid sports fan, playing baseball in his younger years and became an avid golfer as an adult. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his friends. He loved his family above all and cherished his time with them.

Dick had a long career in sales, retiring in 1998; living much of his life in Iowa and Colorado.

He is survived by his loving children Ricky, Kathy and Robin, brother Darrel, grandchildren Rachelle, Toby, Haley, Amanda, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Those preceding him in death were his parents Dorothy and Glen, grandson Jonas, and sister-in-law Beverly.

A celebration of life is to be determined. In lieu of monetary memorials, the family requests you plant a tree in his memory to replace those lost during the Derecho.
