Obituaries : Jonathan Robert Gihring

Jonathan Robert Gihring, 44, of Garrison, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, at MercyOne Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa.

Per his wishes, he has been cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Survivors include his children, Breann Gihring and Samuel Gihring, both at home; father, Robert "Bob" Gihring of Garrison; siblings, Rodney (Martha) Gihring of Des Moines, Shawn Gihring of Garrison, Jamie Gihring of Garrison and Susie Gihring of Virginia; also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacquelyn Gihring; and a brother, Joseph Gray.

Jonathan Robert Gihring was born Feb. 28, 1977, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Robert and Jacquelyn (Hallstead) Gihring. Jonathan worked as a supervisor for Adidas Inc, in Cedar Rapids, for many years.
