Memorial Service for James (Jim) W. Newton - Sunday, October 10th at Brandon Community Center, Brandon, Iowa. Everyone is invited to join his family at 1:00 pm for a meal and service at 2:00 pm. James "Jim" W. Newton, Jr., 67, of Indian Springs, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Jim was born in Independence, Iowa the son of James W. and Verda Dolores Masters Newton (Novak).In 1972 he married Cathy Walton, they later divorced. To this union a son was born, Kelly James Newton.He is survived by his son, Kelly (Lisa) Newton, Waverly, Iowa; his mother, Dolores Novak, Rowley, Iowa; grandchildren Keely Newton, Kennedy Newton, McKayla (Cass) Nedved and Kyle (Mallory)Hinz. Great-granddaughter, Claire Nedved. His brothers. Michael (Pam) Newton, David Newton, Andrew (Tiffany) Newton, Wayne(Susie) Novak. Sisters Lynn (Lyle) Ries, Annette (Ray) Sauer, Denise (Doug) Lehman, Dawn (Bill) Phillips, Cheryl ( Rick) Wensel, Debora (George) Smith and Carolyn (Doug) Wright and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, James W. Newton and Mary Ellen Newton; his stepfather Duane R. Novak.His grandparents Jesse M. and Effie M. Masters; Elmer and Helen "Nellie" Newton; and niece Monica Newton.Jim was a talented artist. He gifted his art work to many family members and friends.A 1 p.m. luncheon will be held prior to the memorial service, Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 2 pm at Brandon Area Community Center, 802 Main Street, Brandon, Iowa 52210. The Reverend Jamie Wolf will conduct the service.
