Larry Dean Woolison, 74, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Hospice of Mercy in Hiawatha from complications of diabetes.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Vinton Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jessica Crane Munoz officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Masks are optional.

Larry was born January 1, 1947 in Vinton, the son of James and Mardene Grimm Woolison. He attended school in Vinton, graduating in 1965 and went on to receive his EMT certification. On May 2, 1970 he married Nancy Morrow at the Vinton Presbyterian Church. Larry worked at Hawk Bilt Manufacturing, the North Benton Ambulance for twenty seven years and retired from PMX in 2018. Larry enjoyed camping, cooking, storytelling and country music. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy; children, Lisa (Michael) Clark, Robert (Lisa) Woolison, Amy (Josh) Robinson; grandchildren, Tyler, Alyssa and Haley Clark, Elise (Mason) Jones, Hanna, Jenna and Lilly Robinson; brother, James (Pam)Woolison, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials will be directed to Hospice of Mercy in Hiawatha.
