Jean Irene (Pohlman) Schutterle, 93, passed away peacefully at Rose Haven Care Center in Marengo on Friday, February 19, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, February 26, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown, with Rev. Jeffrey Schanbacher officiating. Interment will be held at Lenox Cemetery rural Norway. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday at the church. Masks and social distancing will be practiced.

Jean was born January 6, 1928 in Keystone, Iowa to Frederick & Mary (Ehrenstein) Pohlman. She graduated from Keystone High School, and also from business College. On April 17, 1949, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Schutterle at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Luzerne. She and LeRoy farmed near Watkins until LeRoy's death in 1994. Jean and LeRoy loved to dance and play in card clubs. She loved tending her large garden, raising flowers and going to church and the St. Martin's group activities. Jean loved to travel across the country and traveled to Hawaii and Alaska. She attended the Watkins Baseball Trip for 50 plus years and loved sports, especially attending her grandchildren's activities.

Those left to cherish Jean's memory are her sons, Paul (Deb) Schutterle of Watkins, Wayne (Tricia) Schutterle of Norway; daughters, Marcia Schutterle (Randy Graesser) of South Amana, Lori (Pete) Frederick of Blairstown, Lisa (Sheryl) Kokesh of West Amana; 10 grandchildren, Shannon (Amy) Ehrmann, Shelly (Marty) Wilford, Morgan, Whitney and Ethan Schutterle, Chelsea (Justin) Hartson, Tia (Michael) Hauser, Teal (Mark) Wilson, Valerie (Mark) Hora, Bryce Kokesh and fiance Julia Wolter; 10 great-grandchildren, Grayce, Emerson, Nash, Cameron, Kelsey, Peyton, Natalie, Brynn, Bryar, Eloise; and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband LeRoy; infant daughters, Peggy and Sheri; and 2 brothers, Vernon, and Delmar Pohlman.
