Obituaries : Lyle Naylor

Lyle Naylor, 86, died peacefully at home Saturday, February 1, 2020 from a sudden illness.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, February 6, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton followed by burial in the Urbana Cemetery.

Lyle was born November 2, 1933 in Brandon, IA, to Henry and Edna May Albert Naylor. He grew up and attended school in Brandon. On February 8, 1953 he married Merlene Harrelson in Toddville. She preceded him in death in 2008. Lyle farmed, worked for Harpers Hardy Hybrids, Iowa Manufacturing, Davis Implement and area farmers. He enjoyed woodworking , working in his gardens and mowing his yard and the Urbana Cemetery.

He is survived by his children, Allen (Tamar) Naylor, Michael (Kathy) Naylor, Stephen (Tami) Naylor, Deborah Bergen, and Rhonda (Randy) Sacora; siblings, Lorraine Romick, Florence Hermsen, Evelyn McCaulley, Frank Naylor, Kenny Naylor, Richard Naylor and Donald Naylor; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren ; many nieces and nephews and his dog, Jessie.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and three brothers.

A memorial fund has been established.
