Lola Maye (Brehm) Krug, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2019, at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 21, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating. Interment will take place following the service at St. John Lutheran Cemetery near Newhall. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 5:00 PM, Sunday at the church in Newhall. A memorial fund has been established.

Lola Maye was born on September 3, 1928, in Garrison, to Louis and Elsie (Strellner) Brehm. She graduated from Shellsburg High School with the class of 1946. On November 13, 1954, she was united in marriage to Albert Al Krug at Zion Lutheran Church in Shellsburg. Lola Maye worked at Rockwell-Collins, retiring in 1990.

Lola Maye was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the Friendship Club. Lola Maye and Al enjoyed working security for University of Iowa Athletics for over 25 years and were also members of a 500 card club in Newhall for over 50 years. Lola Maye enjoyed sports and was an avid Hawkeye and Cub fan. She dearly loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Al of Newhall; her children, Kathleen (Eric) Goslinga of Marshalltown, and Stephen (Margrate) Krug of Hartwick; her grandchildren, Matthew Krug, Daniel and Dalton Goslinga; step grandchildren, Miranda Tyson, and Elijah Jones; her sister-in-law Ann Brehm of Middleton, ID and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Franklin Brehm, Russell (Rose) Brehm, and Ronald (Sandy) Brehm.
