VINTON: Rosetta M. Meister, 91, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton where friends may call after 1 PM. Pastor Andy Sayer will officiate. Private Committal Services will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established.
Rosetta was born August 2, 1925 in Shellsburg to Frank and Cleo (Culver) Burgess. She was united in marriage to Melvin Meister on August 8, 1944 in Cedar Rapids.
Prior to her retirement, Rosetta was employed at Virginia Gay Hospital and the Vinton Lutheran Home. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Wayne) , Terri, Mickey (Bill) and Mary; her sons, Norman (Glenda) and Roger (Barb); twenty-one grandchildren; many great grandchildren; her sister, Iva Jean; and her brothers, Danny and Steve.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters; one son, and one sister.
