Obituaries : Shirley A. Walker

VINTON:  Shirley A. Walker, 81 died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the
Vinton Lutheran Home.  Graveside Services will be held at 10 AM, Thursday,
July 21, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.  A Memorial Fund has been
established.  Phillips Funeral Home - Vinton is in charge of arrangements.  

    Shirley was born July 24, 1934 to Carl and Elsie (Russ) Anderson in
rural Shellsburg.  She graduated from Shellsburg High School and attended
Business College.  Shirley was united in marriage to Donald Walker on
October 10, 1964 at Cedar Rapids.  Donald preceded Shirley in death on
August 5, 2004.

    Shirley worked for Milroy & Eckhart Law Offices for many years and
retired from the Benton County Abstract and Title Company in Vinton.  She
enjoyed her cats, reading and spending time with her family, especially her
cousin, Mary Williams.  

    She is survived by her daughter, Susan of Vinton; her son, Mike of
Cedar Rapids, a special cousin, Mary Williams of Vinton and many additional
cousins.

    Shirley was preceded death by her parents and husband.
