Obituaries : Marisa Claire (Slager) Smith

GARRISON:

     Marisa Claire (Slager) Smith, 53 died at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha on April 17, 2016 from a short battle of cancer.

     A Celebration of Life will be held at the Garrison Farmers Mercantile Hall, 100 W. Main St, on April 30, 2016 from 12 to 4 p.m..  Private Committal Services will be held. 

     Memorial Contributions are welcome and should be directed to the family.

     Marisa was born June 10, 1962 in Vinton and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1980.  She worked at LaGrange Pharmacy for sixteen years.  She loved spending time with close family and most of all her grandkids. She loved antiquing, doing flea markets and she loved her dog, Chloe.

     Marisa is survived by her longtime companion, Darrell Dvorak, Jr.; her daughters, Ashley Smith of Mt. Vernon, Chelsea Smith of Vinton; her step-daughter, Miranda Dvorak of Lamoni; her step-son, Darrell Dvorak, III of Nevada; three sisters; two brothers; and four grandkids, Kaiden, Ty, Lily, and Amira.

     She was preceded in death by her dad, Robert Slager.
