Obituaries : Donna Haar

NEWHALL:

     Donna M. Haar, 90, died Friday, December 18, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

     Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating.  Committal Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the church in Newhall.  A memorial fund has been established for the Vinton Lutheran Home.

     Donna was born May 14, 1925 in Newhall to Emmett and Mary (Sindt) Seeman and graduated from the Newhall Consolidated High School.  On June 22, 1946 she was united in marriage to Arnold Haar at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall.  The couple farmed south of Newhall prior to their retirement. She served her congregation as a volunteer for many years.

     Donna is survived by her Husband, Arnold of Vinton; her daughter, Janet of Cedar Rapids, and her son, Steve of Atkins; her grandchildren, Jared (Melea), Jacob, Joel and Jaymes; and great grandchildren, Melody and Violet.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Carroll and Charles Seeman.
