ELBERON:
Eugene Leland Christensen, 75, died Sunday, December 6, 2015 at his residence following a sudden illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone with Rev. Mike Ferguson officiating. Private Committal Services will be held at National Cemetery near Vining. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
Eugene was born December 31, 1939 in rural Benton County to Earl and Mildred (Vileta) Christensen.
On August 27, 1960 he was united in marriage to Sandra Holloway at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Eugene worked for Collins Radio, Loyd’s Service Station and at Midland Forge for thirty five years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his John Deere Mower. He had many longtime friends and would always have time to chat.
He leaves behind his wife, Sandra of fifty-five years; brothers, Dwayne of Vining, Clare of Colorado; brothers-in-law, David Holloway of Marion and Paul Knight of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces, nephew and cousins.
Eugene was loved and will truly be missed. Thanks goes to the Elberon Ambulance Service for their tremendous efforts to revive him.
