Irene Paul

VINTON: Irene Mae Paul, 95 of Vinton passed away peacefully Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the age of 95 in her home with family by her side. She was born May 26, 1919 in Rock Rapids Iowa to Louis and Sena Wittrock. She married Henry Paul on November 9, 1962. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1981. She also had one son James Wittrock, who preceded her in death and one step daughter Betty Wilkinson, and a brother Gus Wittrock.

Irene loved to travel and spend time in the summer at the family Cabin in Chicog Lake in Wisconsin. Henry and her spent a lot of summers there and would meet other family there.

She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and especially her great great grandchildren.

She is survived by three step-children Lois Anderson of Omaha Nebraska, Harold “Bud” (Della) Paul of Jacksonville Florida and Blanche Lovell of Vinton Iowa, who she lived with for the last 31 years. She is also survived by one niece Carolyn Philibin, one nephew Charles Wittrock, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and many niece's and nephew's.

A Celebration of Irene’s Life will be held at 11 AM – 2 PM, Wednesday January 21, 2015, at 1313 West 3rd Street in Vinton where family and friends may visit and talk about what a wonderful lady she was.
