Randy Lee Thorsvig, 43, of Fargo, ND, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

He was the son of Bill and Betty Thorsvig of Vinton.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 23, 2014, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service and time of sharing at 6:30 PM, in Salem (Central) Evangelical Free Church, Fargo.

A Celebration Service will be Monday, March 24, 2014, at 2 PM, in Salem (Central) Evangelical Free Church, Fargo.

Randy Lee Thorsvig, “Thor,” was born September 5, 1970, the son of Betty Jean (Short) and Wilhelm Thorsvig in Moorhead, MN. Randy grew up in Glyndon, MN, and graduated from Glyndon-Felton High School in 1989.

Randy attended Valley City (ND) State University on a football scholarship. He was an avid athlete spending many years playing football, wrestling and power lifting during his high school and college years. Later in life he became involved with MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and Tae kwon do. At the age of forty, Randy fought his first professional fight and won. Randy was a member of the Jazz Band during his high school years, where he played saxophone.

Randy was united in marriage to Christina L. Marchand-Dearborn on September 3, 2004, at New Hope Evangelical Free Church, Moorhead. Randy spent his career in customer service, most recently at Sanford Health.

Randy passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, in his home, at forty-three years of age.

Randy spent his life as a patriot of God, with his heart and soul dedicated to his country and God. Randy was an active member of the Salem Evangelical Free Church, most recently as a Sparks game leader, spending many loving hours with the children of the church.

Randy leaves behind his loving wife, Chrissie, and his “Irish Princess” daughter, Molly Rae. In addition, he leaves his parents, Betty and Wilhelm Thorsvig, Vinton, IA; brother, Kris and Dusty Thorsvig, Elizabeth, MN; sister, Britton, and her husband, Jason Lerch, Vinton; parents-in-law, William and Michelle Dearborn of Middleton, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
