VINTON:     Colette E. Haefner Harrison, 58, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN following an extended illness.

     Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2014 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St., in Vinton, with Pastor Dorothy Banzhaf officiating.  Private Committal Services will be held at Buckingham Cemetery near Traer.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m., on Thursday.

     Colette was born September 26, 1955 in Vinton to George H. and Doris (Cress) Haefner, Jr., and graduated from Washington High School in Vinton.

     On July 2, 2001, she was united in marriage to Harry Harrison in Marengo.

     Colette was a member of Kent Union Chapel near Holiday Lake.  She worked at Amana Refrigeration for twenty-nine years.  She enjoyed spending time at her Holiday Lake Cabin, quilting, reading, and attending auctions, garage sales and flea markets.

     She is survived by her husband, Harry Harrison of Vinton; her daughter, Heidi (Michael) Wirth of Vinton; her grandsons, Scott and Andrew Wirth; her step-sons, Kenny (Krista) Harrison of Iowa City and Dustin (Janet) Harrison of West Branch; her step-daughter, Cheri (Roger) Fontinel of North Liberty; her step-grandchildren, Kelsey and Dylan Harrison, Tanner, and Caitlyn Harrison, Kassidy, and Ava and Ethan Fontinel; her mother, Doris Haefner of Vinton; her brothers, Russell (Kristy) Haefner of Vinton, and Kevin (Julie) Haefner of Walker; her sister, Renee (Darby) Stein of Vinton; and many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her father, George H. Haefner, Jr.; her brother, Scott Haefner; and her step-grandson, Landon Fontinel.
